About Brittany

Brittany believes that people are doing the best they can with the tools available to them. Our experiences, relationships, environments, and upbringing can all play a role in shaping who we are and how we move through the world. Sometimes the ways we learned to cope or protect ourselves helped us get through difficult times but may no longer serve us in the same way. Brittany believes counselling can be a space to explore these experiences with curiosity and compassion, better understand ourselves, and develop new tools for moving forward.

Her goal is to create a space where clients can show up as they are and feel heard, respected, and accepted without judgment. She understands that reaching out for support can feel uncomfortable or even overwhelming, especially when you are unsure where to begin. Clients do not need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling. Brittany will start wherever you are.

Her approach to counselling is person-centred, trauma-informed, solution-focused, and strengths-based. She believes that each person is the expert on their own life and that counselling is a collaborative process. Together, Brittany and her clients explore the experiences that have shaped them, identify patterns that may be getting in the way, recognize the strengths that have carried them through difficult times, and work toward the changes that feel meaningful to them.

Brittany works with adults and adolescents experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity exploration, and self-esteem challenges. She also has experience supporting individuals navigating grief and loss, substance use, family dynamics, and other complex life circumstances.

Her clinical experience has been rooted in northern community settings, including work with Indigenous clients and communities. This experience has strengthened her commitment to providing counselling that is respectful, culturally responsive, and grounded in each person's individual experiences and needs.

Brittany holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She is a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a Counselling Therapist (CT) with the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta.

Wherever you are in your journey, you do not have to navigate it alone. Together, Brittany and her clients create space to better understand what they are experiencing, build on the strengths they already have, and find ways to move forward that feel right for them.
